What To Expect

Al Jazirat Al Hamra
Jazirat al-Hamra is a small rustic fishing village exhibiting the lifestyle of the region before the discovery of oil. Abandoned and left to the work of nature, it is also one of the most well preserved and oldest coastal villages of U.A.E with roots dating back to 16th century.

Inhabitants of the village made their living mainly through pearl diving and fishing. As they left the place in 1968, the dry desert weather conditions helped preserve the area. The key highlight of the village is the coral black houses built in traditional way along with mosques, wind towers, shops and schools.

Ras Al Khaimah National Museum
Once served as the residence of the former ruler until 1960s, Ras Al-Khaimah Museum is a Pandora Box of historical wonders of the emirate. The museum exhibits a vast collection of fascinating archaeological items. Situated in the old town area of the city, the place with such fascinating heritage is a must-visit for history enthusiasts.

Shimal
Shimal is a small hamlet of great historic significance and site of myriad ofpre-Islamic tombs.

Situated north of the Ras Al Khaimah city, Shimal is a small rustic village cuddled near the Hajar Mountains. The place holds agreat archaeological importance and is home to few hundred pre-Islamic tombs. The records and historical findings also hold proof of settlement in the area from around 2000-1300 BC. Several items such as pottery, weapons crafted of bronze and copper, stone vessels and beads were unearthed while several excavations. However, the greatest discovery in the area is considered to be of finding huge circular tomb from Umm al-Nar period. One can also see Husn al-Shimal Fort from small Islamic era being perched high above on the rocky outcrop. The place is a must visit for those who appreciate history.

RAK Mall
RAK Mall is located in the Al Qurm suburb of Ras-al-Khaimah and is a must-visit place acclaimed for elegant dining and entertainment options along with impeccable local and international clothing stores, jewellery and cosmetic outlets.

Entertainment activities like Go Karting, Football, 7 Dimensional Cinema are all available under one roof. RAK mall is spread in an area of 700,000 sq ft. with notably astounding architecture, food courts, coffee shops and several brand outlets.

Saqr Park
Located in the Keiran area of Ras Al Khaimah, Saqr Park is a children's favourite. For adults, the park also houses a variety of options to unwind with such as a table tennis court, electronic games hall, a rollercoaster, the boating area, Bid splash ride, shops and electronic cars. It is the first amusement park in the area and features a toy train which takes visitors around the park.

Rak Zoo
The RAK Zoo is the third biggest in the UAE after Al Ain Zoo and the Emirates Park Zoo in Abu Dhabi. It is home to a total of 40 wild, rare and endangered animals, situated close to Saqr Park and built on an area of 1 million square metres. The animals include African and white lions, white and rare golden tigers, black panthers and cheetahs, as well as a variety of beautiful birds. Apart from animals, the zoo has many facilities such as a club for training women and children how to ride horses, restaurants and cafes, a special corner for children’s toys, cycle tracks, horse and camel riding tracks, restrooms, footpaths, family walks and rest areas. Inside the zoo, the animals have been kept in air-conditioned cages and ponds similar to their original habitats. You feel that you are in their original habitat, as the cages are also decorated with 3D pictures. During summer, the animals are kept in their own cold isolation rooms to protect them from the high temperatures.

Dhayah Fort
Established in the early 19th century, Dhayah Fort is an ancient building located at a strategic position as a defensive military tower. Made out of mud and brick, this fort has served as a site of last battle between the local tribes of the area and the British soldiers in the year 1819. One can still see the almost ruined fortification on the south direction of the hill.

The building is around 18 kms north of Ras Al Khaimah city off the Al Rams Road. One has to climb the steep zigzag staircase to reach the top of the fortress, which is well worth with the panoramic view of the surroundings. The view of the Hajar Mountains, green date-palm oasis and the city area is breathtaking.

Jebel Jais
Jebel Jais in Ras Al Khaimah rests at 1,934 metres above sea level and is the highest peak in the UAE. The mountain offers stunning sunrise and sunset views. The 35 km long road to the top of the hill features eight hairpins and countless sharp corners, making it one of the best routes in the world. It is also home to the World's longest zipline which attracts adventure enthusiasts from across the globe.
